Kick off Optometry’s Meeting in style at the AOA Experience from 5:30-7 p.m.! Hear from AOA and AOSA leadership and be inspired by motivational speakers to start your week strong in vibrant Minneapolis. Then, from 7-9 p.m., join us for the Eye Care Square Exhibit Hall Opening Reception. Connect with colleagues, make new connections and enjoy a taste of Minneapolis. This event is open to all fully registered attendees and guests—just bring your badge to join in!

Leadership Link is a networking program designed to help students and new doctors make the transition from optometry student or recent graduate into their role as a doctor of optometry. This is an exclusive opportunity to network with some of the profession’s leaders from across the country. Students and doctors will be grouped at tables and provided topics to discuss throughout the one-hour networking session. Space is limited, so be sure to register and save your spot! Then head into the Eye Care Square exhibit hall to participate in the Affiliate Connections where students can meet and talk with their future state or federal optometric association.

Colleges of optometry from the U.S., Canada and Puerto Rico compete to be the smartest, loudest and most creative. This high-speed, high-stakes test of optometric knowledge pits one champion from each school against all others, poised to buzz in with the right answer and bring home $1,000—and the coveted crystal trophy. The equally celebrated Spirit Award honors the school with the most energy, best costumed and flashiest entrance. Be sure to attend the EssilorLuxottica Live! student-only event following the Student Bowl (students must attend the requisite eyeFWD EssilorLuxottica Education Session at 10 a.m., Thursday, June 26, to receive entry wristband).

InfantSEE Workshops

2 Sessions (8 a.m. and 9 a.m.)
Thursday, June 26

Students will learn best practices, tips and tricks for when it comes to providing an infant eye exam. A doctor of optometry will present a short, 15 minute presentation on the InfantSEE program and a general overview of an infant eye exam, followed by breakout sessions where students will see in-person demonstrations and also practice their own skills on an infant patient.
