Colleges of optometry from the U.S., Canada and Puerto Rico compete to be the smartest, loudest and most creative. This high-speed, high-stakes test of optometric knowledge pits one champion from each school against all others, poised to buzz in with the right answer and bring home $1,000 and the coveted crystal trophy. The equally celebrated Spirit Award honors the school with the most energy, best costumes and flashiest entrance. Be sure to attend EssilorLuxottica Live!, a student-only after party following the Student Bowl (requisite EssilorLuxottica education at 10 a.m., Thursday, June 26, to receive entry wristband).

Kick off Optometry’s Meeting in style at the AOA Experience from 5:30-7 p.m.! Hear from AOA and AOSA leadership and be inspired by motivational speakers to start your week strong in vibrant Minneapolis. Then, from 7-9 p.m., join us for the Eye Care Square Exhibit Hall Opening Reception. Connect with colleagues, make new connections and enjoy a taste of Minneapolis. AOA+ Leadership Link
12-1 p.m. Thursday, June 26 (lunch provided) Minneapolis Convention Center
Leadership Link is a networking program designed to help students and new doctors make the transition from optometry student or recent graduate into their role as a doctor of optometry. This is an exclusive opportunity to network with some of the profession’s leaders from across the country. Students and doctors will be grouped at tables and provided topics to discuss throughout the one-hour networking session. Space is limited, so be sure to register and save your spot!

Blast from the Past
Accepting entries: Jan. 27-March 17
Optometry students have a chance to learn and earn with the Blast from the Past challenge! Research an influential person, event or development in optometry's history and tell us about your findings (essay, video, etc). Written essays must be 2 pages in length and video submissions must be 3-5 minutes in length. Finalists will present at a virtual education event and have a chance to receive cash awards. Supported by The AOA Foundation and Optometric Historical Society.

Blast from the Past Virtual Education
7 p.m. CT Wednesday, April 30 Virtual
Top-three student finalists will present their entries in a 7-10 minute presentation as part of an hour-long Blast from the Past virtual education event. A final audience vote will determine 1st, 2nd and 3rd place entries. Finalists will receive a $1,000, $500 and $250 cash prize award and are required to attend Optometry's Meeting in Minneapolis. Supported by The AOA Foundation and Optometric Historical Society.

InfantSEE Workshops
2 Sessions (8 a.m. and 9 a.m.) Thursday, June 26
Students will learn best practices, tips and tricks for when it comes to providing an infant eye exam. A doctor of optometry will present a short, 15 minute presentation on the InfantSEE program and a general overview of an infant eye exam, followed by breakout sessions where students will see in-person demonstrations and also practice their own skills on an infant patient.
