Presidential Celebration

HOYA returns as the generous sponsor of the Presidential Celebration on Saturday night. After the 2010-2011 Board of Trustees are introduced, Optometry’s Meeting^® attendees will be entertained by comedians Frank Caliendo and John Pinette. Immediately following the performances, attendees will enjoy a dessert reception and a private laser show in the atrium of the Gaylord Palms^® Resort. Tickets required for admittance. Frank Caliendo

Comedian/actor/impressionist Frank Caliendo has been all over television the past few years. Caliendo, a seven-year veteran of television sketch comedy (MadTV, Hype) had his own show titled “Frank TV” on the TBS network. Once described by the “Hollywood Reporter” as “a combination of Robin Williams and Jim Carrey,” Caliendo is one comedian that should not be missed.

John Pinette

When asked to describe his stand-up, John Pinette said, “I talk about my life; it is the funniest thing I can think of. For some reason, people enjoy seeing me lose my cherub-like demeanor.” Pinette has been entertaining audiences around the world in a variety of ways for over fifteen years, but it is making people laugh that he enjoys most of all.
