New Technology and Product Showcase Theater

The BRAND NEW New Technology and Product Showcase Theater takes place Thursday and Friday in the exhibit hall. Four companies will showcase some of their latest technology and allow you to get a first-hand and hands-on demonstration.

Showcase participants include:

  • Shamir Insight
  • Vistakon, a Johnson & Johnson company

 

Optometric Physicians of Washington Annual Membership Meeting

Optometric Physicians of WashingtonThe Optometric Physicians of Washington will hold their Annual Membership Meeting at Optometry's Meeting™ on Wednesday, June 25, 2008.

"The Sky's the Limit"

Immediately following the Wednesday Night Welcome Reception, Optometry's Charity™ will be celebrating the International Library, Archives and Museum of Optometry (ILAMO) centennial with a dessert reception and mini casino night, which will include raffle items and a silent auction. Join us on Wednesday, June 25 at 8:30pm at the Sheraton Seattle Hotel's famous Cirrus Room. The breathtaking view of the water from the 35th floor of the hotel makes this one of the most popular places in Seattle for special events. The sky’s the limit as ILAMO moves into its second century as “Optometry’s Information Center.”

The Handbook of Ocular Disease Management: Focus on the Cornea

On Thursday, June 26, from 10:00am-12:00pm, attend course #1010. Listen as the actual authors of “The Handbook of Ocular Disease” discuss various disorders of the conjunctiva and cornea, including clinical presentation, pathophysiology, and management strategies. Clinical pearls and audience participation in an open forum highlight the discussion. A complimentary copy of the handbook will be available for registered attendees following the course. This course is generously sponsored by Alcon.

 

 

Microbrew Mania

Microbrew ManiaIf you enjoyed the "Buck-a-Beer Night" in the Optometry's Meeting™ Exhibit Hall, you'll love Microbrew Mania! Join us Friday evening from 4:30pm – 6:00pm in the Exhibit Hall, where upon entrance, those eligible can purchase, for only $2, a microbrew passport to participate in a Seattle microbrew taste festival!

The state of Washington is home to over 60 microbreweries; 18 of those breweries reside in King County (including Seattle and surrounding cities). We will feature four of the finest breweries, including Maritime Pacific, Pike Brewing, Pyramid, and Red Hook. Each brewery will present a regular favorite and a seasonal brew for you to try.

 

 

The Washington Wine Experience

The Washington Wine ExperienceJoin us Thursday evening for a Reception, sponsored by HOYA, from 4:00pm – 7:30pm in the Exhibit Hall, immediately following the ribbon-cutting ceremony. Upon entrance into the Exhibit Hall, those eligible will receive a wine glass and a wine passport to participate in a wine-tasting featuring a few fine offerings from the state of Washington!

Four Washington wineries will be featured, including Apex, Chateau St. Michelle, Gordon Brothers, and Terra Blanca. Each winery will present one red and one white wine from their cellars for your tasting pleasure.
