HOYA Vision Care is offering third- and fourth-year students the opportunity to win a $1,000 grant, hotel, and airfare to Optometry’s Meeting™ in Seattle. To be considered, students must submit a patient case study involving HOYA products to the faculty judge at their school by April 1, 2008. There will be one $1,000 winner at each school. The winning case studies will then be reviewed by HOYA’s ECP Advisory; the overall winner will receive an additional $6,000 scholarship.
Third-year and fourth-year optometry students were invited to submit a 2,000- word (maximum length) case report on patients fit with Varilux lenses to the applicants’ school’s clinical staff by February 1, 2008. The student with the winning case report at each school will receive $1,000, plus entry into the national judging. The national award winner and faculty advisor will each receive an all-expense paid trip for two to Optometry’s Meeting™.
The Vision Care Institute™, LLC Travel Grants make travel to Optometry’s Meeting™ more affordable for students at each school and college of optometry in the U.S., Puerto Rico, and Canada. The winners, selected by a faculty member at each school or college, are also eligible to compete nationally for an additional $1,000 for the best overall winning essay on the topic: “UV Radiation and the Eye – How an Optometrist Can Help.”

The Vision Care Institute™ Travel Grant Scholarships will be presented during the Career Options Expo: Cracking The Code...The Keys To Implement The Total Patient Care Model, Part 1 on Thursday, June 26, 2008, 3:00pm - 5:00pm. Students must be present to claim their scholarships.
