What’s on your mind? Mind reader and motivational speaker Robert Channing guarantees he’ll be able to tell what you and your fellow students are thinking during this entertaining, interactive, and motivational program. Channing demonstrates the power of the human mind by predicting audience members’ futures, bending spoons with his mind, telling how much money is in your pocket, and much more. You won’t want to miss Channing’s displays of mental dexterity.

Varilux Optometry Super Bowl XVII and Reception7:30pm - 10:00pm


Essilor of America, Inc. is a proud sponsor of the Varilux Optometry Super Bowl XVI.The tradition of the ever-popular Varilux Optometry Super Bowl continues in Seattle. You won’t want to miss this fierce optometric competition, generously sponsored by Essilor. Contestants representing schools and colleges of optometry throughout the country vie for the grand prize: bragging rights, $1,000, and a crystal trophy. (Second- and third-place winners receive $750 and $500, respectively.)

Everyone is invited—O.D.s, guests, assistants, and techs. Attend the reception that immediately follows with great food, drinks, and warm camaraderie.

Considering an optometric residency after graduation? Visit with residency directors about individual programs and application procedures. Get the “inside scoop” on the programs and people that make each residency a unique, challenging, and diverse experience.

iConnect with TLC at Trinity Nightclub7:00pm - 10:00pm

TLC Laser Vision Centers is a proud sponsor of student continuing education at Optometry's Meeting.
TLC invites students to dance the night away at Trinity Nightclub, one of Seattle’s hottest nightclubs. Trinity is an eclectic, multi-level club with unique rooms to fit every mood. The majestic Main Room features one of the largest dance floors on the West Coast. Great food, fun, and friends — an unforgettable evening with TLC!

Students must register and attend the TLC-sponsored lecture, “Is Your Patient a Candidate for Refractive Surgery?” (S242) to gain admittance to the iConnect with TLC event at Trinity Nightclub. Don’t miss out…the TLC course and event have limited capacity, so be sure to register early! Student guests must register under function code 0260 to get a ticket to attend. All attendees and guests must be 21 or older.

Exhibit Hall Student Focus Hours11:00am - 1:00pm

First- through fourth-year students are encouraged to stroll through the Exhibit Hall during these dedicated student focus hours. Learn about the latest in optometric technology, products, and services and meet exhibitors who will be future business contacts. They’re keeping their eyes out for you and will have special giveaways and drawings just for students! Prize drawings, sponsored by the AOA and the Student New Graduate Committee, will be awarded. You must be present to win.

Presidential Celebration Featuring Jay Leno7:30pm - 11:00pm

Hoya is a proud sponsor of student continuing education at Optometry's Meeting. Students are invited to “Tonight’s Show,” honoring the new AOA President and Board of Trustees. The AOSA Executive Council will be introduced, followed by a comedic performance by the Emmy-winning host of "The Tonight Show," Jay Leno. Afterward, a dessert reception with live music and dancing will give students the opportunity to meet with friends, say final farewells, and make plans to meet next year in Washington, D.C. Register for function #0380. Function tickets are required for admittance.
