- WEDNESDAY AFTERNOON — Don’t miss a three-hour (2:00pm - 5:00pm) panel presentation entitled, “A New Frontier in Optometry: Exploring Options in Surgical Co-management,” sponsored by AMO. Join a prestigious panel of primary care practitioners as they review the latest information pertaining to anterior segment conditions. Several different infections, inflammatory conditions, corneal staining situations, and contact lens-induced problems will be covered. A reception will follow this course. - THURSDAY MORNING — You will not want to miss the amazing course immediately following the Opening General Session on Thursday morning from 10:00am – 12:00pm. The AOA and Review of Optometry, through a generous educational grant from Alcon, are teaming up to bring you “The Handbook of Ocular Disease Management: Focus on the Cornea.” Listen as the actual authors of “The Handbook of Ocular Disease,” which is celebrating its 10th Anniversary, present various topics including disorders of the conjunctiva and cornea, including clinical presentation, pathophysiology, and management strategies. A complimentary copy of the handbook will be available for registered attendees. Be sure to register for course #1010. Free of charge.
- THURSDAY AFTERNOON – Join four leading optometric glaucoma experts from 1:00pm - 3:00pm as they present, “Glaucoma Today: Agree or Disagree?” This course, sponsored by Allergan, will review controversial areas in glaucoma. Areas to be addressed include: is imaging a standard of care, is the concept of corrected IOP important and are the new diagnostic instruments (optic nerve imagers, SWAP) useful in our diagnostic armamentarium? These questions and many others will be discussed in an interactive fashion. Be sure to register for course #1013.
- FRIDAY MORNING – From 8:00am - 10:00am a panel of distinguished experts will keep you up to speed on “The Latest and Greatest News in Optometry!” This course, sponsored by Allergan, will review several articles appearing in the past 12 months and bring them to you in a clinically succinct format. You will be provided with a synopsis of the articles and their relevance to clinical optometry as well as the references. Be sure to register for course #2008. Free of charge.
- AOA INTERACTIVE POSTER SESSION - For the sixth consecutive year, obtain CE credit on Saturday, June 28 from 11:00am - 2:00pm. Attendees wishing to spend an uninterrupted hour or two viewing the interactive poster session will be able to receive the appropriate one- or two-hour CE credit. Please note that CE credit will be offered only during the Saturday interactive session, 11:00am - 2:00pm. Register for one CE hour, #PST1 or two CE hours, #PST2.
- LET’S TALK TAXES – Specifically, “Tax Advantages of Retirement & 401(k) Plans For Your Practice.” Learn how to structure and include 401(k) plan contributions, match provisions to get the most out of your plan, and maximize tax deductibility through retirement plan design. This seminar will conclude with a review of the benefits of the AOA Members Retirement Program. Best of all…it won’t cost you a dime! The course takes place in the AOA Education Theater in the Exhibit Hall on Saturday from 11:30am - 12:30pm. Don’t forget to register for #T332.
