Optometry's Meeting® Continuing Education Highlights - More FREE CE Than Ever Before!

This year's CE program boasts many new topics and formats. In addition, we are offering 28 total hours of O.D. Continuing Education for free, included in your base registration fee.  We understand the tough economic times; therefore, we are increasing our complimentary offerings.

  • WEDNESDAY AFTERNOON — Don't miss a two-hour panel presentation from 3:00pm - 5:00pm titled "Redefining Quality of Vision: New Technologies Influencing Vision Care," sponsored by AMO. Join an expert faculty panel as they present new technology and innovative trends in cataract and refractive surgery. Be sure to register for this FREE course, 1004.

  • THURSDAY MORNING — You will not want to miss the amazing course immediately following the Opening General Session from 10:00am - 12:00pm, made possible through a generous educational grant from Alcon. Join a prestigious panel of optometrists as they discuss their major success stories and accomplishments during "Optimizing Visual Performance...Changing the Quality of Lives, One Day at a Time." These special doctors will help you gain new insight into the unique profession of optometry. Be sure to register for this FREE course, 1010.

  • THURSDAY AFTERNOON – Join four leading lecturers from 1:00pm - 3:00pm as they present "Ocular Surface Disease - Covering the Bases." This course, made possible by a generous educational grant from Allergan, will review controversial symptoms related to ocular surface disease. Whether it's dry eye, contact lens intolerance, blepharitis, or ocular rosacea, the optometrist has to be able to recognize, diagnose, and treat these conditions. This panel of experts will provide an educational and entertaining discussion of these topics and how the practicing optometrists can "own" these diseases in the area where they practice.   • FRIDAY MORNING – From 8:00am - 10:00am, several of the most respected optometrists in clinical practice today will discuss the importance of evidencebased medicine and how to integrate it into your clinical practice in a course titled, "Evidence-Based Medicine and What it Means to the Practicing Optometrist." Be sure to register for this FREE course, 2008, sponsored by Allergan.

  • COMPLETE REFRACTIVE SOLUTION THEATER - Sponsored by AMO – Are you interested in learning more about the new technologies in cataract and refractive surgery? Then join AMO and TLC in the "Complete Refractive Solution Theater" in the Exhibit Hall! The theater will offer eight hours of free education from Thursday - Saturday, so be sure to register early to reserve your seat! The courses in the theater include:

  • AOA INTERACTIVE POSTER SESSION – Posters will be displayed in the Exhibit Hall of the GaylordNational® Convention Center on Friday, June 26 and Saturday, June 27. The AOA Poster Session will offer CE credit on Saturday, June 27, from 11:00am - 2:00pm. Attendees wishing to spend an uninterrupted hour or two viewing the interactive poster session will be able to receive the appropriate one- or two-hour CE credit. Please note that CE credit will be offered only during the Saturday interactive session (11:00am -2:00pm). Register for one CE hour (PST1) or two CE hours (PST2).
